Ghalib Mohammed
Biography
Ghalib is an Iraq lawyer based in Basra and the founder of Ghalib Law Office. He assists clients in various commercial and litigation matters, including Iraqi labour law issues, criminal cases of corporate clients and dealing with governmental authorities.
Ghalib has an experience in representing client, foreign and local, in lawsuits filed in Iraq before court and judicial authorities, whether as plaintiffs or defendants, and in drafting and preparing motions and exchanged pleas. His experience extends to representing clients civil, commercial, criminal, and labour, and administrative cases.
Further, he has drafted and reviewed contracts of commercial nature or employment contracts, and provided his legal opinion with relation to requested assistance and to also draft transactions’ contracts for companies with difference business activities.
In addition to the above, Ghalib has an experience in holding meetings and negotiations with clients and governmental departments and authorities in Iraq.
Experience
Represent clients before Basra Oil Company in different matters related to oil & gas fields
Conduct Due Diligence on the companies and commercial cases with the registries systems and Iraqi courts.
Represent clients in matters with the General Commission of Taxes related to release the funds for contracts held with the private or public sectors
Represent oil & gas company in various subjects in litigation such as vehicles’ rental, disputes related to equipment supply contract, provision of oil services contracts, labour claims, and consultations contract.
Represent client in cases related to the issuance check without balance, Criminal claim for the theft crime, claiming the abrogation of the contract for supply gas oil and claim the occurred loss of profit for breaching the contract, Criminal cases for equipment and vehicle theft and forged receipts and invoices
Obtain and arrange for expat work permit application.
Represent clients before banks to update accounts of the clients.
Advise clients in partnership with companies or projects.
Represent clients in liquidation matters
Advise on the regulations and instruction to import goods and the details of the actual procedures in Iraq
Advise on employments matters related to termination, gratuity, end of service, compensations and others.
Provide advices on Coran virus and its impacts
Advice on Arbitration matter.
Advise on Shipping matters related to seized vessels in the ports or issues related to goods and customs clearances.
